Dr. Frank Shemansky has enjoyed multifunctional roles from groundbreaking R&D to technical business development.  His focus is on MEMS, sensors, and semiconductor systems including both hardware and software for consumer, medical, automotive, industrial, and aerospace applications.

Dr. Shemansky has been a key member of several successful start-up companies with responsibilities ranging from V.P. of Engineering to V.P. of Business Development.  He was a member of the original Motorola team that pioneered the research & development, design, and commercialization of the world’s first high volume manufactured MEMS systems. His background includes MEMS design, device engineering, process integration, product development, semiconductor process & materials R&D, transfer to manufacturing as well as product management, marketing, and contract negotiation.  He has seven issued U.S. patents and over 30 publications and conference presentations including co-author of the first MEMS textbook.

Dr. Shemansky obtained his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Penn State University and his M.S. and Ph.D.’s in Chemical Engineering from Arizona State University.
