Help Shape the Industry
Join the SEMI International Standards Program Today!
For over 40 years, device manufacturers, major fabs, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and other organizations from around the world have relied upon SEMI International Standards to help reduce costs and spur innovation. Standards have had enormous impact on the semiconductor industry and are now also making valuable contributions to flat panel display, micro-electromechanical systems, photovoltaic, and high-brightness LED (light-emitting diode) industries.
The industry has relied on thousands of industry volunteers worldwide—people just like you—to help develop a wide range of standards. Over 5,000 volunteers representing over 2,000 companies work in 20 global technical committees and over 200 task forces to find solutions to common technology challenges. Participation in the SEMI International Standards Program is open to all; SEMI underwrites the costs of administering the program as a service to the industry. Members may join one or more technical committees as voting or non-voting members by filling out a simple application form.
Standards are also a way to make an important contribution to your company. Participants in the standards development process can influence important cost saving, quality assurance, factory integration, maintenance and other critical business initiatives. Standards volunteers give their company an important voice in the future of the industry and a valuable early-warning system on new and impending standards that may have significant impact on sales, product design and cost reduction programs. Contributors to industry standards have gone on to hold senior positions in the industry and many have won prestigious industry-wide awards.
Participation in the SEMI Industry Standards program is an interesting and meaningful way to network with colleagues from throughout the world. Standards volunteers make lifelong friendships and develop valuable business contacts through their participation in standards meetings and other standards development processes. Standards committee meetings are typically held in conjunction with SEMICON Expositions and other major industry events.
Standards meetings are open to all registered SEMI Standards Program Members. To join the standards community and start making a big contribution to the industry’s progress, complete an application form today.
